Rob Cross made it eight wins in nine Unibet Premier League matches as he beat Daryl Gurney 7-4 at the Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands. 

In Cross' second match of the evening he came up against an in-form Gary Anderson, going down 7-3.

Cross made a good start to his match against Gurney by taking a 5-0 lead with legs of 16, 17, 18, 15 and 16 darts. He hit the first of four 180s in the opening leg as he took out double eight with Gurney back on 64.

Gurney missed two darts at double top in the second leg as 'Voltage' finished off on double ten, his fifth dart at a double. The third leg was won with a 107 checkout (T19, 18, D16) with Gurney waiting on 60.

Cross then won the next with a 119 finish (19, T20, D20) after the Irishman had missed a dart at the bull for a 170 finish. The fifth leg was won with a double eight finish.

The world champion almost made it six zip but this time he missed a dart at the bull for a 126 finish, leaving Gurney to take out double twelve at the first attempt following up his only 180 of the match.

Gurney followed that with a 120 finish (20, T20, D20) in a 15 dart leg, to trail 5-2.

Cross found the double fourteen at the third attempt to win the eighth leg in 13 darts to move 6-2 up. Two missed match darts followed in the ninth leg as Gurney won it in 14 darts with a 56 finish (16, D20).

'Superchin' then took out 138 (T20, T20, D9) in an 18 dart leg to trail 6-4. Cross wrapped up victory in the next leg with his third attempt at a double for a 15 darter.

Cross averaged 96.09, Gurney averaged 91.71.
