PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP 20

Following on from yesterday's excellent day on the oche Rob Cross was seeded sixth for Players Championship 20 at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin.

 

'Voltage' edged past Craig Gilchrist 6-5 in the opening round, beat Lee Bryant 6-4 in the second round and Peter Hudson 6-4 in the third round.

 

John Henderson ended the Sussex hotshot's run in the fourth round, taking it 6-4. Henderson stormed into a 5-1 lead in this match ony for Cross to win the next three legs then miss three darts at double eighteen to draw level. Henderson then hit double fourteen to advance to the quarter-finals.

 

Cross won £1,500 in prize money.

 

Mensur Suljovic came from 3-0 down to beat Stephen Bunting 6-4 in the final to claim his first Players Championship title.
