Van Gerwen in great form in Birmingham

World number one Micheal van Gerwen produced a high class display as he bet Rob Cross 7-2 in the Unibet Premier League this evening in Birmingham. Averaging 111.57 the Dutchman took out finishes of 144, 86 and 76 to finish top of the league with one night of matches to be played. Cross averaged 101.71, hit one 180 and had a finish of 78. Voltage advances in Sindelfingen

Rob Cross advanced to the third round of the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen, Germany this evening with a 6-5 win against Vincent van der Voort. Averaging 102.47 ad taking ot finishes of 116, 72 and 61 the world champion came close to hitting a nine darter, narrowly missing double eighteen.

Wade defeats Cross in last leg decider 

James Wade beat Rob Cross 6-5 in the third round of the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen, Germany this afternoon. Both players hit two 180s apiece. Wade took out finishes of 120 and 117, averaging 100.52. Cross had an 86 finish and averaged 98.50.

League phase ends with a draw 

Rob Cross drew 6-6 with Simon Whitlock in the Unibet Premier League in Aberdeen this evening. Cross hit five 180s and finishes of 112, 94 and 90, averaging 89.86. Whitlock hit four 180s and averaged 88.38. Cross finished fourth in the table and will go on to face Michael van Gerwen in the semi-finals of the play-offs at the O2 Arena in London next Thursday evening with the winner going on to face Michael Smith or Gary Anderson in the final. Cross withdraws from Dutch Darts Masters 

Rob Cross has withdrawn from this weekend's Dutch Darts Masters in Zwolle. The following was posted on his twitter account: Unfortunately I've had to pull out of the Dutch Darts Masters. I've had chest pains for a few weeks and after consulting doc in Aberdeen last night, I've damaged cartilage in my sternum. I need to get a scan early next week and rest before the O2.

MvG beats Cross on the way to Premier title 

Michael van Gerwen beat Rob Cross 10-6 in the semi-finals of the Unibet Premier League at the O2 Arena in London. MvG went on to beat Michael Smith 11-4 in the final to claim the title for the third straight year. Further details here.

Voltage edged out by Masters winner 

Rob Cross made his debut in a World Series event at the 2018 German Darts Masters at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, home of football team Schalke 04 in front of 20,000 fans beating.Stefan Stoyke 6-4 in the opening round of the 16 player tournament (the first of six global events on the 2018 World Series circuit). The performance from the world champion wasn't great but it was enough to see him through to the quarter-finals where he was narrowly beaten by eventual champion Mensur Suljovic 8-7.
