2018 PDC Annual Awards

Monday 22nd January 2018

Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London

Rob Cross capped a phenominal first year on the PDC professional circuit by scooping four trophies at the PDC's Annual Awards Dinner at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, London on Monday night.

Cross was named PDC Best Newcomer, was voted PDPA Players' Player of the Year, was a runaway winner of the PDC Fans' Player of the Year and won Televised Performance of the Year for his superb World Championship semi-final defeat of reigning champion Michael van Gerwen in an exciting 11-set clash which went to a sudden-death leg.

"It's amazing to get four awards," said Cross. "This time last year I was practising and I knew I had a big year coming up but I progressed nicely and you couldn't have scripted it.

"I've still got to get used to being World Champion, but in my eyes I'm still learning and I feel I can get better.

"To get the Players' Player of the Year award is unreal, and to get this reaction from the fans too is fantastic."

Van Gerwen won PDC Player of the Year, Peter Wright won PDC ProTour Player of the Year, Dimitri Van den Bergh won PDC Young Player of the Year and Sky Sports presenter Dave Clark was inducted into the PDC Hall of Fame.

A number of players who achieved a perfect leg in PDC tournaments in 2017 were recognised with places in the PDC Nine-Dart Club.
